"I have a 4 year old pug who is everything to me. When I got her, she was the size of a mouse and had been bottle fed because she didn't have a dog mom. She still to this day sucks my thumb at night before bed and when she becomes stressed out. When I worked at another clinic, a pug had an anesthetic complication and died. What a tragedy! I , after that experience, never wanted a vet to touch my pug! My pug has always had breathing issues and not just a little bit. Shw would stop breathing at least 3-6 times a month. She was unable to exercise or play with my other dogs. She was in grave condition if left untreated. Ihad decided that she would die young because I wasn't going to take her to a vet and "kill her". In August 2010, I was told about Dr. Sessions and reluctanty set up a consultaion with her about my baby girl. It was amazing how she made me feel about being able to fix my poor little pug's breathing issue. She explained to me that my pug had a soft palete issue and that it is flesh hanging down in her trachea, which was blocking her airway. She explained to me how quick and easy the procedure was for her to perform and that the recovery was the worst part of the surgery. I left there thinking that I had a way to finally save my dear sweet pug! The doctor did x-rays and could see that my baby's heart was already enlarged and damaged, so what did I have to lose. I made the appointment and on October 3, 2010 dropped my little black pug off at Broadway Vet to have a staphylectomy. I was in tears and was greeted by Dr. Sessions who conforted me and reminded me that she performed many of these procedures and that she would care for my baby! I waited for her call and was completely terrified that my pug would die on the operating table. Dr Sessions called me a few hours later to let me know that my pug was doing great. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Sessions for giving my pug a life worth living. It is a miracle come true! My pug breathes so quietly that I don't realize she's beside me anymore. She can exercise, run, and play now! She has never been able to do any of the activites that she is doing now! Thank you Doctor Dawn! You're the best!!"
